The Operations team continues to grow and aims to strengthen the connection of Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain and Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) across Collins Aerospace. In this dynamic environment, you will have the opportunity to network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality and efficiency of our operations worldwide.  

The Commodity Associate will develop a strategic plan for a commodity or a strategic supplier.  Responsible for overall relationship with one or multiple strategic accounts across a given commodity.  Leads sourcing process from RFQ to contract signature.  Ensures supplier or commodity is performing to the designed Collins requirements from delivery, quality and cost perspective.

This individual can work onsite at any Collins Aerospace domestic location.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct RFQs and perform bid analysis

  • Support contract negotiations

  • Support the development of broad based commodity or supplier strategies

  • Drive special projects with Suppliers and cross-functional teams across the organization

  • Must align with the Procurement Policies and Standard Work, RTX Code of Ethics and International Trade Compliance

  • Present and provide project updates to all levels of the organization.

  • Lead resolution of project setbacks including identifying alternate solutions, internal Collins escalation, interfacing with suppliers, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management experience

  • Experience negotiating contracts

  • Aptitude for detailed analysis

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience OR 
  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required 
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
