This Mechanical Engineering Co-op/Intern position requires an individual seeking an opportunity for challenge and learning through on-the-job experience. This assignment requires working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams across several projects with responsibilities including assisting engineers in design tasks (analysis, selection of components, CAD) and fabrication of the designed equipment. Test implementation and documentation of testing results may also be required. This assignment includes parts procurement and assistance with design documentation including technical reports. This is a significant opportunity to learn and apply the mechanical engineering discipline in a dynamic industry environment.
A successful candidate is someone who has a desire and a hunger to learn accompanied with a high work ethic. This candidate should be able to see the big picture, realizing that engineering is not simply developing a subcomponent but that there are interfaces within the system and with the real world that must be attended to. In addition, this candidate must be able to work independently with the ability to solve problems, be creative, and add value to the efforts of the group without extensive supervisor interaction. An important element of the job is being able to change gears quickly, moving from task to task without difficulty. Be prepared to have fun, learn a lot, and work hard in a professional environment.| Currently enrolled in a mechanical engineering degree program.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
