This position, Senior Counsel for Global Contracting, is a leadership role within the Office of General Counsel of Raytheon Technologies Corporation. This lawyer reports directly to the Vice President & General Counsel of the Enterprise Services (ES) division and supervises at least one other transactional lawyer. This person is the senior transactional lawyer on the legal team that supports ES, the multi-functional shared-services division that supports the rest of the enterprise worldwide. He or she advises ES leaders and their teams on a broad range of primarily transactional but also regulatory and litigation issues regarding commercial and government contracting. This lawyer negotiates, drafts, interprets, defends, and helps enforce various domestic and international contracts for the enterprise and especially its digital technology function (including procurement, software licensing, services, commodities, and technology).
Juris Doctorate degree from a top law school with 8 years of commercial transactional experience, in house or at a law firm, ideally both.
Knowledge of the UCC, industry standards for commercial terms, best practices in supplier management.
Familiarity with transactional work in a global context.
Member in good standing of a US state bar.
Pro-active strategic planner, critical thinker, decision-maker, and problem solver.
Familiarity with government contracts law, including the FAR and DFARS.
Familiarity in trade controls law, including ITAR and EAR.
Foreign language ability or foreign (non-US) work experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Integrity and sound judgment, and ability to collaborate across functions and businesses.
Leadership, analytical, and motivational skills.
