Summary of Role:

The Selborne IT Technician Level 2 role is responsible to the IT Support Manager for the provision and sustainment of IT systems to support the delivery of apprenticeship and naval training within the Selborne contract.

Main Duties:

Provide technical support to several IT systems and associated training equipment, including supported AV are correctly maintained and repaired to enable Selborne contract performance standards to be met and the delivery of naval training is maintained.

The roles main duties will include but not be limited to:

• Provide IS support (1st, 2nd and 3rd Line) to ensure calls are managed in line with agreed SLA/ KPI
• Update and maintain the register of IT assets
• Provide user support to ensure the effective and timely resolution of technical problems, keeping users informed of the status of their request for support
• Document solutions to problems regarding standard IT applications and record them appropriately
• Undertake the day to day operation of backup systems including rotation of backup tapes.
• Manage and Deliver software deployment as instructed/requested
• Build PC, Server and Mobile Systems in line with contract and customer need
• Monitor system alerts and reports.
• Manage all works through the TABS FM System
• Contribute to the proper installation, maintenance, and disposal of IS Equipment.
• Liaison with contractors and suppliers of IS equipment.
• Provide IT support services ensuring all services are delivered to contract requirements


Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

Detailed knowledge and practical experience of:

• Previous experience of fault finding, diagnosing repairing and maintaining IT Systems
• Previous experience of successfully delivering projects and change.
• A clear understanding of the Accreditation and SCIDA processes
• Qualified academically or vocationally in relevant IT subject matter
• Excellent working experience and knowledge of Windows based products such as Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Desktop OS and Office including the deployment and through life support.
• Capable of achieving Security Clearance (SC).
• Full UK driving licence.



Desirable:

Should have some experience in:

• Previous experience of applying IT principles practically in the Royal Navy training establishments.
• A clear understanding of the Accreditation and SCIDA processes
• Experience of implementation and configuration of an Exchange Organisation
• Relevant Microsoft Certifications
• ITIL Foundation
• Previous experience of Android deployment in a business environment
• Experience of deploying and maintaining bespoke IS products
