In this role, you will serve as the Pratt & Whitney’s Oklahoma City Operations Power Plant Engineer.

OKC Operations currently supports the aftermarket maintenance and overhaul of modules/engines for the F117, F119, and F135 programs including logistical operations and STC

This team is key to the future of the Military Engines organization, the continued success of P&W, and the national defense of the United States.

This role is critical to the success of OKC Operations and Warehouses

Additionally, this role will be responsible for accurately representing the OKC Operations to other P&W organizations, our USAF partner, and the military customer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational oversight of F119 engines from induction to sales through the entire value stream (Gate 0 - Gate 3). 
  • Monitors all issues related to module production in HMC WIP and reports status to the PPE Lead.  Lead and/or partnership across the PW matrix with the responsibility to organize, prioritize, and drive any and all open issues to closure.  This includes areas such as project plans, process planning, quality, material management, engineering, and any other constraints that impact customer delivery
  • Engage USAF OC-ALC Propulsion Maintenance Group (PMXG)  with identification and prioritization of manpower, proficiency, floor space and other shop related issues that could impact customer delivery
  • Define, evolve, and own the operating and communication rhythms to ensure on time delivery of all F119 engines.   This includes production, work scope and scheduling meetings as well as any additional cadences necessary to meet customer expectations.  Hold owners from respective functions accountable for resolving open issues in a timely manner. 
  • Drive delivery performance through gate Turnaround Time (TAT) metric.  Ensure all schedule and planning is aligned to meet customer requirements, ensure all variance information is tracked in QCPC system, performances risk management for responsible module and escalate issues as required.
  • An integral member of a team of power plant engineers who will be responsible for ensuring the on time delivery of engines, gate management of engines, overall turnaround time (TAT) through each gate.  This also includes project management of all issues and constraints within gates. 
  • Primary liaisons between PMXG/ALC, materials, quality and engineering. Develop and implement strong processes and communications to resolve issues and constraints in a timely manner while maintaining the highest level of quality.
  • Seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency through the development and usage of new or improved project mgmt. tools, digital solutions, process documentation, or technology. 
  • Oversee employee timekeeping, awards, discipline and leadership development through coaching and regular performance reviews
  • Demonstrates commitment to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.
  • You may be expected to travel up to 10% of the time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Operations/Supply Chain Management or equivalent in related field is required.
  • M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent in related engineering field is a plus.
  • PMI credentialed highly desired
  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in an MRO Operations environment is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with demonstrated adaptability competency.
  • Excellent communicator with ability to work collaboratively with others who may have differing agendas.
  • Proficient in Continuous Improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Experience in the development/maintenance & overhaul of turbofan engines or Aerospace Gas Turbines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
