At the Plymouth location we design and manufacture products for control, navigation and guidance for surface and air applications in the global aerospace and defence markets. Our world leading products include the innovative MEMS based IMUs and the digital terrain reference navigation system, TERPROM®.
A vacancy has arisen for an Electronic Systems Engineer at the Plymouth site. Working in a dynamic and supportive team environment you will be required to give complex Electronics support for a variety of high integrity engineering systems used in world-class inertial measurement products over a significant proportion of the product lifecycle. These products combine in-house MEMS sensors, FPGA’s, embedded software and unique architectures housed within bespoke mechanical fixtures that endure extreme environmental conditions.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Qualified to a high level in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Analogue/Digital/Mixed-signal design and test experience
- Numerical simulation
- Use of eCAD systems for; schematic capture and PCB layout
- Firmware design/test (VHDL)
- Problem solving (Root Cause Analysis)
- A positive attitude with a desire to learn new skills.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience of development using a formal design process DO-254, etc.
- ASIC design
- EMC design
- Design experience of airborne applications
- Experience of requirements derivation and management
- Ability to understand and contribute across disciplines (systems, software and mechanical).
