Network Architecture Lead

This position will be responsible for leading a team in the delivery of network architecture services including conceptual and logical network architectures, Hardware and Software standards, and BU project consulting. This role will be critical for the design and development of a new global network.

Job Duties & Responsibilities  

Manage team of direct reports consisting of both internal and contracted resources. Assess business and application requirements for voice and data networks and provide consultation, along with logical and conceptual architectures. Set architectural guidelines and standards for voice and data including:  WAN, MAN, LAN, WLAN IPAM, telephony, and data center networking, ensuring security is designed into everything we do. Lead and/or participate in network design activities and projects in support of global, regional, and domestic initiatives Follow Network architecture / design throughout the lifecycle to ensure the delivered solution adheres to the design or where the design may need to be modified Partner with applications, BU Architects and Cyber to ensure cohesive guidelines are in place Develop specifications for Infra engineering to build the architectures and  participate in design-related problem resolution Develop Reference Architectures, Blueprints, and Roadmaps In all areas of responsibility.

The incumbent is responsible for providing full compliance with the “Company Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government” and the “Company Code of Ethics”, which include, ensuring subordinate staff are aware of the policies and that their responsibilities and actions comply and support these policies. In all areas of responsibility which have direct impact on the health and safety of employees and the environment, assure that appropriate safeguards are in place and that the "Company Policy and Principles on Human and Natural Resource Protection" is fully supported and implemented. Responsible for the completion of specific goals, objectives, and tasks related to this position as assigned by RTX management.

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 10+ years of designing and building cisco-based networks
  • Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Certified architect preferred
  • Minimum 1 year Software Defined WAN experience
  • Exposure to Azure and or AWS networking
  • Management experience preferred
  • Proven experience of architecting and designing large scale networks
  • Proven experience of managing & delivering network architectures for large scale transformative technology programs to enable business growth
  • Proven experience collaborating across the enterprise to resolve complex technical issues
  • Proven experience in evaluating technical standards and associated impacts
  • Knowledge of cloud connectivity and software defined networking
  • TOGAF and ITIL knowledge  preferred
  • CCIA and/or Cisco Certified Architect certification preferred
  • CCIE and/or CCNA Cisco Certified Network Architect
