Network Engineer
As an Infrastructure Engineering Network Engineer you will utilize your experience and knowledge of network and telecom engineering to build and integrate infrastructure solutions in support of expanding and evolving Local Area Networks , Wide Area Networks , Metropolitan Area Networks, Wireless Networks and Voice/VoIP Infrastructure hardware and technology. This position will focus on delivering network infrastructure solutions to our businesses, programs and the enterprise. This position is hands on and requires cross functional framework collaboration while remaining focused on target initiatives and deliverables. The candidate will possess strong technical skills focused on infrastructure build and integration.
Responsibilities:
- Installs, configures, builds and maintains network devices and components. Participates in researching, defining and testing next generation infrastructure components.
- Installs, configures and builds network devices and component
- Implements new solutions per architecture design in support of Corporate and BU initiatives.
- Transitions support to Network Operations and NOC within the development of play books for operational sustainment.
- Performs network traffic analysis and recommends upgrades or configuration changes.
- Reconfigures and upgrades network elements, systems and facilities in support of network compliance and business requirements.
- Responsible for cross functional and partner collaboration within network troubleshooting, fault detection, isolation, repair and restoration for one or more Business Units.
- In support of programs and business proposals performs routine moves, adds and changes
- Prepares network documentation, technical papers and reports as required.
- Secures network systems by establishing and enforcing policies while defining and monitoring access.
- Analytical skills – diagnosing problems and defining root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills (oral/written) and ability to work in a team, cross framework collaborative environment.
- Exposure to SDWAN, NFV, Netscout, Statseeker, WireShark, Cisco Prime,ISE and network tool infrastructure leveraged to support build and integration Advanced routing and switching skills.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex, dynamic environments where agile was applied at scale.
- Excellent decision making and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines with Projects and Assignments.
- Ability to learn and support new technologies and train others.
- Energetic and highly motivated self-starter.
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills are required.
- Cisco certifications or equivalent industry certifications required.
- Scripting and tool automation experience required
- Availability to provide On Call support out of normal working hours on a rotational basis.
Education:
Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelors Degree 7 yrs experience, or an Advanced Degree 5 yrs experience.
Location: Newington, CT or Remote
