Job Summary

As the Edge to Cloud Compute Engineer you will be responsible to manage the build and deployment of compute (server) solutions at the edge and in managed private clouds located in datacenters, supporting IT and business objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Engineers and be a technical and management escalation point for that team, engage with clients, lead projects, and be a technical escalation point for support staff.
  • Become a subject matter expert in many of the following technologies: VMware, Citrix, Remote Access Platform, Microsoft Windows & Linux Server OS
  • Specifically participate in the build and deployment of application and infrastructure systems according to requirements, SOP’s and standards.
  • Senior level server administrator with experience in areas including performance optimization, automation, capacity planning and SOX
  • Recommends and implements modifications to the server environment, including troubleshooting and replacement of faulty system hardware.
  • Evaluates and maintains hardware/software management and monitoring tools which will meet both the immediate and future needs of the customers
  • Creates a capacity management process and implements performance measurements and reporting mechanisms that identify baselines and detects trends that anticipate required capacity changes before performance is negatively impacted
  • Active participant in IT strategy and roadmap to ensure its integration with the broader IT and enterprise strategic plans.

Critical Qualifications

  • Should be comfortable coordinating different priority activities in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple clients
  • Extremely knowledgeable and experienced with VMware, Windows, Linux, Citrix, Hyper-converged and storage solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering related field or equivalent work experience; MS degree desired
  • Minimum of 8+ years IT/IS solutions experience
