Raytheon's Advanced Concepts and Technology (ACT) Mission Area is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer, RADAR Systems Engineer to join our team. This experienced RADAR systems Subject Matter Expert will provide leadership to, and support all aspects of, Raytheon Technologies' ACT RADAR product lines to include: strategic planning; architecture development; subsystem development; component development; radar algorithm development; signal processing mode development; and platform integration planning in support of distributed aperture RADAR programs. This leader will be a Subject Matter Expert with: AESAs; RADAR and Communications systems; multifunction RADAR mode development to include AMTI, GMTI, maritime surveillance, sense and avoid, weather detection; and terrain detection/avoidance.
This SME will provide technical expertise and leadership for RADAR and communications system designs to include: software specification definition for functional implementation; design and development of RADAR and communication waveforms; conduct and support signal processing and waveform analyses; develop mathematical algorithms for RADAR signal processing; make performance predictions and analyze data received from the RADAR to evaluate algorithm performance; make technical presentations and participate in technical product reviews; regularly interface with other engineering teams and program management; ensure consistent application of engineering best practices - using 6 Sigma proactively to foster a culture of continuous process improvement.
Experience with Radio Frequency communications systems and RAdio Detection And Ranging (RADAR) systems
Ability to develop, document, analyze, and decompose requirements
Experience with systems engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques
Experienced with the following systems engineering functions: Requirements development and management; Architecture Development; System Design; Laboratory Development, and various levels of product Integration, and Testing.
Experience collaborating with internal company, inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters
Ability to work in a collaborative, multidiscipline environment to produce deliverable products
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Familiarity with MATLAB and/or other tools to analyze and collect technical data
Experience utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and able to act as a Subject Matter Expert for enabling MBSE within the team
Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) Systems and knowledge of related performance characteristics to include interferometry direction finding
Experience with Digital Engineering to include use of MBSE related tool sets to include any of the following: SysML; Rhapsody ®;, or Cameo / Magic Draw ®)
10 years of relevant experience and a BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM); or 8 years of relevant experience and a MS in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
