Vision Systems is looking for a production specialist to join the thin films multi-disciplinary team who has a passion for technology and willingness to learn optical coating technology and processes.

The Production Specialist must demonstrate a safety first work routine, have a proficient understanding of the technical aspects associated with his/her assigned process and the ability to work with process engineering to resolve production issues. The individual needs to be able to coordinate work flow with co-workers and effectively communicate with engineering and management. Participation in cross training activities is required. Routine work is performed with minimal supervision.
The individual in this position will perform a wide variety of tasks in support of the optical coating process and inspections.

Duties include cleaning optics and chambers, PVD preparation and deposition, photolithography, grinding, spectral evaluation, and defect inspection tools. The ability to perform and document weekly SPC activities. A critical skill set is the ability to work with computers in order to follow the written instructions, track WIP, document required data, and operate the equipment. Attention to detail and the ability to follow written work instructions is mandatory. Mechanical aptitude, the ability to work in a class 1000 cleanroom and the flexibility to work overtime or weekends to meet the factory’s needs are also required.

Required Skills
  • 8 years of related experience and a high school diploma required at a minimum.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift -- generally, a 12 noon – 8:00 pm schedule.
  • Experience with thermal or e-beam thin film deposition systems.
  • Ability to work safely with various processing equipment, chemicals and raw production materials.
  • Able to accurately read and follow detailed equipment operating and product process specific instructions.
  • Intermediate computer skills, ability to accurately record process parameters.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle delicate hardware.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment, as well as be efficient and confident on one’s own as it is a second shift position.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
Desired Skills
  • 5 years’ experience with manual and semi-automated processing equipment to include photoresist coaters, contact/proximity aligners, steppers, hotplates, surface treatment tools (UVO/Plasma) and Wet Bench processing, thermal and e-beam evaporation, sputtering, microscopic inspections.
