Software Section Manager/Principal Software Engineer
Raytheon Missile & Defense (RMD) in Fulton, MD is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to be responsible for motivating a small team of engineers and serving as mentor, leader, and coding partner in software for distributed systems.
As a Software Section Manager you will provide technical direction and maintain accountability of performance and behaviors of engineers in your section, and be actively engaged in the technical and/or programmatic aspects of programs within the business. This includes providing engineering stakeholder input and direction to ensure that cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk management comply with program needs. Additionally, you will ensure optimal resources (personnel and assets) are dedicated to programs, develop career and growth paths for engineers in your section, perform other functional duties in support of the normal operations, and also provide cost estimates for proposal activities including basis of estimates (BOEs). The successful candidate will also execute in a direct technical capacity as an individual contributor to software development.
