Job Summary:

Raytheon Solipsys, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) and Raytheon Technologies (RTX) and an industry leader in the development of Command and Control solutions for both the Domestic and International DoD.

We are seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Business/Product Strategy Director. The preferred work location is Fulton, MD, however flexible or remote work arrangements will be considered. If remote the position will require the ability to be in the Fulton office or travel as needed.

The Business/Product Strategy Director is responsible for developing both the near and long term business strategy for Raytheon Solipsys incorporating all aspects of Solipsys C2 product and software development capabilities, markets and customer base, business models, competitor assessments, emerging technologies, adjacent markets, etc., to drive investment decisions and achieve top and bottom line growth.

In this role, you will need to have excellent communication and collaboration skills to document and drive adoption of strategic considerations in support of longer-term business goals. The position requires new and unique approaches to develop and communicate strategy.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Develop and maintain near and long-term strategic plans for Solipsys Business and Command and Control Product Lines
  • Lead the business efforts to develop strategic business goals and objectives for long term growth, including market analyses and customer engagements to inform the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
  • Conduct investment assessments for Product Line capabilities and technologies to drive growth
  • Conduct market analysis through discussions with various domestic and international military and commercial contacts and representatives
  • Develop competitor assessments and gap analyses
  • Present business/product line strategy to Solipsys and RMD C2 leadership
  • Collaborate with Business Development to develop Capture strategies
  • Partner with Product Teams to drive product lines to create demand in line with customer investment and technology strategies
  • Investigate & implement new transformational business/product approaches
  • Lead/coordinate white papers and trade studies on strategic investment

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Comprehensive understanding of US and International Command and Control and Battle Management
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience; related business and technical industry experience
  • Experience developing business strategies for aerospace and defense, or complex technology intensive industries
  • Experience in conducting business level portfolio analysis and making recommendations for portfolio shaping
  • Experience conducting competitive assessments, customer analysis and business and / or capture strategy development
  • Experience working international opportunities including strategic business teaming agreements
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically

This position requires an active U.S. security clearance as of day one of employment. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:
  • Military experience in acquiring, designing, fielding and/or operating tactical and theater Command and Control Systems and Centers, e.g. BC3, CAC2S, AOCs, JOCs, MOCs, etc.
  • MBA or other Advanced degree from accredited university or college
  • Knowledge of government customers, C2 capabilities and acquisition cycles
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of senior management
  • Creative leader with results-oriented mindset
  • Ability and credibility to operate at all customer levels internationally
  • Demonstrated ability to connect diverse interests and customer needs to determine strategic opportunities and markets in core businesses and adjacencies
  • Experience in building and leading high-performing and diverse teams
  • Communication/presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills at executive levels in industry and government
  • Organizational agility to work seamlessly across a matrix organization
  • In depth understanding of key financial metrics that are critical to business success
  • Experience in generating enterprise level strategic plans
  • Active DOD Secret or Top Secret/SCI level clearance
