Job Summary:
Our Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMS) business has
an exciting opportunity for a Contracts leader that is willing to accept a high degree of responsibility in our Thales Raytheon Systems (TRS) Joint Venture (JV) in Massey, France for a one (1) year assignment with an option to extend to two (2) years. This transatlantic JV is comprised of complex international business that includes development, production and sustainment contracts with customers spanning across NATO countries. The primary programs within this business include Air Command and Control Systems, Theatre Missile Defense layer, and In-Service Support. Partnering with the Thales Contracts lead in overseeing the TRS AMDC2 business area, responsibilities will include leadership of the TRS Contracts team and advising TRS leaders on contracts rights and obligations, and means to mitigate contractual/program risks.

This senior level role will also align with the TRS CEO and CFO to ensure regulatory compliance across programs, while monitoring JV leadership actions for adherence to JV protocols and governance. In collaboration with internal and external counsel, this position will lead RMD’s strategy and potential negotiation discussions with our JV partner as we explore longer-term plans related to business operations and may include a position on the TRS Board of Directors. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate cultural sensitivities and the ability to pr
oactively develop effective internal/external stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities to anticipate:

  • Achieve program and business area objectives and ensure solutions are aligned with international acquisition processes;

  • Establish credibility and trusted, purposeful relationships with business partners, employees, international customers and internal/external stakeholders;

  • Engage in business area issues to drive expeditious closure;

  • Cross-functional ownership of TRS AOP;

  • Oversee two (2) Contracts professionals deployed to Massey, France;

  • Ensure successful governance/compliance of all programs;

  • Provide strategic thought leadership while evaluating complex legal options relate to the future of the JV; and

  • Effective engagement with internal/external legal counsel.

These responsibilities are to be executed in harmony with Raytheon's Code of Business Ethics and Conduct policy which sets the standard by which we operate and how we treat others.

Qualifications you must have:

  • 14+ years business leadership experience in contracts, supply chain or legal

  • Defense Industry experience in companies that bring technology products to market in heavy regulated industry

  • Experience with International customers and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) contracting

  • Experience leading in a multinational company

  • Proficiency in Contracts fundamentals

  • BA/BS Degree in Contracts, Business Management, Finance, or related discipline
