Raytheon Technologies' Environment, Health & Safety Leadership Program (ELP) is a two-year rotational program designed to develop early in-career EH&S professionals into managers responsible for deploying RTX's systems for EH&S excellence.

The ELP program includes three 8-month rotations at the RTX Corporate office and/or Businesses located across the United States. Rotational assignments will be determined by Corporate EH&S management, and will include experience and training in regulatory compliance, sustainability initiatives, and health and safety programs. Assignments are task oriented and focus on areas including environmental impact reductions, pollution prevention and control technologies, energy conservation, waste management, workplace safety, ergonomics and EH&S data analysis.

Participants receive training in the requirements and implementation of RTX's EH&S management system. ELPs receive mentoring and guidance from RTX site and corporate EH&S managers, as well as RTX executives. Our goals are to promote EH&S and communications skills development.

Upon successful completion of the rotational program, ELPs have the opportunity to apply to EH&S positions at RTX and RTX Businesses, and to obtain permanent employment at RTX.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of practical experience with a Bachelors or 1 year with a Masters.
  • Must be able to travel and/or relocate within the US for 8 month rotational assignments. Assignment locations will be determined by RTX Corporate EH&S management.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance*

  • Demonstrated interest and commitment to a career in EH&S, as evidenced in education, volunteer and/or employment experience
  • Effective communications skills, including an ability to work successfully with site employees, EH&S program managers and executives
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with a variety of challenges
  • Results-drive, specifically with the ability to drive results by leading, motivating, and influencing others

Required Education (including major):

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in environmental or chemical engineering, environmental chemistry, environmental science, natural resources, industrial safety or a related field
  • Strong academic performance with a minimum of a 3.2 Cumulative GPA. Copies of transcripts are required.

U.S. Citizenship is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

*This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.  Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.  The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.  Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.  Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
