- Obtain Level 3 Certification in the X-ray Radiographic Method, Film and Non-Film Radiography Techniques.
- Interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the X-ray Radiographic Method, Film and Non-Film Radiography Techniques.
- Assume technical responsibility for the NDT facility and staff, in regards to the Non-Film Radiography Technique.
- Selecting the method and technique for a specific inspection.
- Prepare and verify the adequacy of procedures and work instructions.
- Approve NDT procedures and work instructions for technical adequacy.
- Have a general knowledge of other NDT methods and product manufacturing and inspection technologies used by the employer.
- Provide or direct training, examination, and certification of personnel, in Film and Non-Film Techniques.
- Conduct NDT for the acceptance of parts and document the results if a demonstration of proficiency in this ability was included in the practical examination.
- When delegated by the Manager, Quality Compliance as a Special Process Auditor, audit outside agencies to ensure the requirements of the written practice are met.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) or AA/AS degree or other 2-year post high school training with less than 2 years of relevant experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Experience with Ordnance, Aerospace or aviation strongly desired
- Experience in Manufacturing X-Ray field is a plus
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with digital/computed radiography is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint and engineering drawings and be able to document non-conformances as required
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Candidate must meet vision and color perception requirements
- Willingness to work overtime as requested and non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays
- Have the skills and knowledge to carry out necessary preparation of parts before and after inspection in accordance with approved work instruction
