Raytheon currently has an exciting Information Technology (IT) leadership position available within the Digital Technology (DT) department. This is an opportunity to join one of the world’s largest, most innovative aerospace and defense companies. We are seeking a Data Center IT Operations Manager that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined technical environment. This position is in support of the Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) division.
We are seeking a senior level candidate for a management role within our evolving classified private cloud datacenter. The potential candidate’s main responsibility will be to shape the transformation and scale the data center into an on-premises cloud site offering enterprise related services across the nation. This will be a multi-year phase transformation and will provide the opportunity to utilize strong documentation, prioritization, and project management skills utilizing SAFe Agile processes.
Daily activities include prioritizing operational activities of a diverse technical team, participating in planning, oversight of the datacenter facility and classified media, maintaining collaborative communication with data center stakeholders including Information Security, Networking, Engineering, Program managers, and other business representatives. Additional responsibilities include attending high level briefings with senior leadership, providing limited technical guidance to the team, and fostering a technical culture that will ensure the classified data center maintains its confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Responsible for planning, developing, installation, configuration and maintenance of IT systems, storage, end user hardware, software, cloud, and other infrastructures aligned with customer requirements. This includes end-to-end solutions, including execution of detailed design, implementation, and sustainment activities that ensure functionality, data consistency, security and usability of systems aligned with the intended requirements and consumer priorities. Enables IT system consumers to produce their intended work products efficiently and reliably through cross-functional collaboration. Responsible for proactive and predictive management of the Enterprise Common Classified West Coast Datacenter, ensuring optimal availability, performance, and integrity be maintained through system expansion, modernization, sustainment, and retirement, based upon the demand from the system consumer. Prepares work estimates in support of internal projects and Business Development proposal efforts. Automates routine activities, leveraging scripting and off the shelf solutions to effectively manage IT resources in physical, virtual, and cloud environments and to secure systems. Installs consumer and end user software. Duties of this position includes:
• Lead informal and formal DT teams with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
• Product Owner for the datacenter; participate in daily SCRUM meetings to prioritize activities of the data center team
• Utilize JIRA to measure team capacity, performance, and schedule
• Provide constructive Performance and Development feedback to direct reports
• Responsible for daily operations necessary to maintain confidentiality, integrity, availability of the data center
• Manage, prioritize, and monitor data center daily issues via an automated ticket-based tracking system
• Participate in quarterly planning events, presentation to leadership peers and senior level leadership
