The program is a new multi-phase radar program to develop a Ku band radar with multiple modes including search, and communication capability as well as additional proprietary capabilities. The program is being used as the start of a strategic product line capability for RIS with significant capital and IRAD investment. It will provide the warfighter unprecedented real-time functionality that will greatly enhance mission effectiveness. The capability is based upon related game changing technology and algorithms pioneered on another program. The program is implemented with both unclassified and “withheld” components. The withheld portions of the program require both a DoD secret clearance and a customer Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

The system requires the development of new hardware, firmware, software, and mechanical functionality. Software includes all radar components including Scheduler, Signal Processing, Navigation Processing, Detection and Tracking, as well as infrastructure software such as hardware software interfaces, interface development (Ethernet, PCIe, 1553, serial, etc), and Built-In-Test. As a part of multi-disciplinary product development team, the software team collaborates with systems engineering, simulation, firmware and hardware teams on a daily basis. Later stages of the program will involve substantial hands on integration activities both in the System Integration Lab and at a local testing site. All the program teams are executing using Agile/Scrum methodology and are supported by an integrated DevOps environment that consists of tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Git and Jenkins.

This software development position will be executed out of the RIS Dallas location. This successful candidate will develop radar related mission and mission test software for the franchise program. The individual must be able to operate in a fast paced agile development environment and interface with other disciplines including systems engineering and firmware to accomplish program objectives. The successful candidate must be able to quickly understand the existing code base, strategically apply customer specific requirements to the existing design, adapt the design as required to comply with the overall system architecture and then implement and test the required functionality.
