Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Research, design and prototype analytics algorithms utilizing data from multiple sources and sensors
  • Define scientific and technical problems, develop solutions and plan technical tasks
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary, multinational research team fostering collaboration and teamwork
  • Initiate, propose and execute R&D activities, including technology development both internally and within external collaborative EU research projects
  • Partner with universities, government agencies, national labs, and professional organizations
  • Writing scientific reports, articles and patents
  • Keeping ahead with the latest developments and fostering new ideas and new problem definitions

Basic Qualifications:

  • A proven research applied or academic track record on Machine Learning, Signal Processing and Statistics in one of the fields of numerical data analytics (diagnostics and prognostics), speech processing or image and video analysis
  • Experience in incubation and development of R&D proposals in novel areas (for example for EU or other government funding)
  • Experience of working in collaborative projects and partnerships, and project management
  • A PhD in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Mathematics with a few years of industrial or academic experience, or a Master’s degree with significant experience of industry or academia

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on analytics on the edge or applications of data analytics for embedded systems
  • Strong knowledge of methods in at least one of the areas of deep learning, graph-based methods, Bayesian modelling and inference, statistical learning and state-of-the-art software tools (e.g. Python, C++, etc.)
  • Communication skills and ability to provide timely, accurate reports and presentations to senior management and functional teams
  • Prior experience with applied industrial or aerospace research is desirable
  • Well organized interpersonal and communication skills
  • Prior experience of creating intellectual property and patents
