The Aftermarket Proposal Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Customer Service Sales Team of approximately 30 associates and the Commercial Aftermarket Proposal Process for over 350 proposals annually.  The proposals are typically long term and range from single product to multi-product and cross business unit. The proposals frequently are unique and complex requiring close attention to detail while working to tight deadlines with many stakeholders. 

Process improvement is key to our operating environment and the successful candidate will be a key participant.  This position requires the ability to work independently as well as multitasking several proposals at a time in addition to being able to communicate with multiple business units across the Collins Aftermarket organization.  There will be daily interaction with other functions that support the process such as Contracts, Finance, Business development, Intertrade and the Flight Sense teams.  

This position can be based in one of the following Collin Aerospace site locations; Charlotte NC, Windsor Locks CT, Rockford IL. This is a hybrid position with opportunity to work remotely a few days a week.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Become fluent with the proposal process and be able to follow the standard work as well as be receptive and adaptive to unique requests that may deviate from standard.
  • Review and interpret incoming request forms received from the sales team and identify which applicable functions and businesses units are needed to support the requests.
  • Prioritize requests and schedule/host the standing proposal meetings with all required attendees. 
  • Schedule/host working together meetings with individual business units reviewing open proposal queue including status of overdue inputs and/or approvals.
  • Schedule/host daily tag up calls with finance pricing team to status open proposal queue report.
  • Interpret business case submittals with the financials to create the proposal approval requests which involve creating or revising customer proposal documents in Microsoft Word as well as the creation of pricing tables within Microsoft Excel.
  • Investigation such as data mining using SharePoint and Microsoft Dynamics to deep dive into previous proposal requests for the sales team to understand the backstory of what was worked previously in order to support follow on activities within the ongoing sales process such as negotiation support.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be willing to travel < 10%
  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous exposure to proposals in the Aerospace Industry preferred
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Applications to include Excel capabilities
  • Prior experience using Salesforce
  • Ability to multi-task on high priorities with aggressive deadlines
  • Customer Service experience and/or experience in customer focused environments
