Global Strategic Sourcing Commodity leader for Cargo and Hoist and  Winch Machined Metals. This role manages a team whose responsibilities include the development and timely execution of commodity strategies thru partnership and collaboration with business unit Supply Chain group. This role manages pre-covid spend of $80MM. 

This individual can sit at any Collins Aerospace domestic location or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and execution of commodity and supplier development strategies for direct product that supports the strategic objectives of the Business Unit and Company

  • Responsible for managing a matrixed functional team to ensure the achievement of key goals in the areas of supplier performance, product cost reduction, management and execution of supplier agreements and monitor the compliance to those agreements

  • Conduct RFQs and perform bid analysis

  • Lead contract negotiator for team and to support team members in complex negotiations

  • Organize efforts with regards to supplier performance improvements, expedite requests, and supplier onsite support on critical recovery plans

  • Work with Business Unity Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain Quality and Program Management to ensure the successful material flow into the factories and successful transfer of production requirements to new suppliers

  • Lead multiple buy to buy and make to buy projects

  • Collaborate with leadership from other Business Units and the corporate commodity organization to develop broad based commodity or supplier strategies

  • Coach, train, mentor and support development of team members

  • Drive special projects with Suppliers and cross-functional teams across the organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience. In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • Must be willing and able to travel 25% of the time (domestic & international)

  • 3+ years of prior Supply Chain experience

  • 2+ years experience with work transfers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience negotiating contracts

  • BS and MBA preferred with 5-10 years plus experience in supply chain
