We are currently searching for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Military Avionics Display Application department. Currently, this team supports Special Operations Aviation, Future Vertical Lift, and Arial Cargo Handling. Expect to work on a wide variety of tasks that include (but are not limited to): developing real-time flight critical application software, performing hardware/software integration in the lab, designing / architecting new solutions to meet the needs of our customers and developing requirements and tests to validate the software.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will help lead in SW architecture design, develop and integrate complex features and functionality for use on multiple government platforms. The position will require the development of software via a wide variety of programming languages including but not limited to Ada, Model Based Development, and Python. In addition, the assignment may require assisting in other elements of the software/systems engineering process including requirements analysis and capture, system/sub-system design, software requirements definition, integration, and formal test for requirement verification. The candidate will perform these assignments in conjunction with other system and software engineers using Rockwell Collins engineering processes. Successful programs depend on teamwork grounded in internal communication as well as direct interaction with the end customer including presentations, technical exchanges, and on-site support.
Contribute to software engineering requirements capture and analysis in area of domain expertise.
Design, code, test, integrate, and document software of moderate to high complexity. Capable of building software for simulation and target hardware environments.
Able to identify the root cause of moderate to complex software issues and some systems issues using appropriate debug and analysis tools.
Understands internal processes, methods and tools for systems development and documentation efforts.
Capable of producing engineering estimates for individuals tasks. Will contribute to Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) and Bid proposals and/or lead a software team in a technical role.
Demonstrates the ability to follow through on work assignments with little to no further prompting and raises any potential issues found to leadership.
Contribute to mentoring and developing other team member’s abilities.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen/U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
