Collins Aerospace is searching for a Project Engineer to lead our Integrated Product Development Team efforts. The Sr. Project Engineer will take direction from more Senior Integrated Development Team leaders and Program Chief Engineers for the Un-crewed Value Stream.   The MELCO  program an active thermal control system for and un-crewed space vehicle .

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating setting team meeting agendas, leading team meetings and driving action item closures

  • Team activity scope control, including status and corrective action plans to budget challenges

  • Coordination of engineering change activities

  • Coordination and driving failure investigation activities

  • Driving issue resolution closures due to assembly, test and procurement challenges.

  • Ability and desire to become and perform export classifications for the program

  • Manage suppliers for delivery of flight hardware compliant to requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

  • Experience with heat exchangers production and testing

  • Experience/familiarity with additive manufacturing and welding processes

  • Superior interpersonal and influencing skills, including coaching and mentoring of other engineering staff

  • A desire to lead with the purpose of improving IPD Team performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in related Engineering discipline(s)

  • MA/MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineer or MBA degree
