The F135 MRO&U Depot Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day execution of training and production activities including disassembly, assembly and test of F135 engines and modules at the assigned international location. The Operations Manager works closely with the Site Lead (Logistics Program Manager) and Product Support Provider (PSP) to develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure Initial Depot Capability training schedules and production priorities are met. She/he will be accountable for monitoring all aspects of productivity and process flow to meet F135 Program On-Time Delivery (OTD) and Turnaround-Time (TAT) requirements while ensuring a high level of customer and employee satisfaction. In addition, they will work closely with the Product Support Provider (PSP) to determine future capability and capacity and set tactical and strategic goals in alignment with Program requirements.
This role is responsible for the relationship between P&W and the Product Support Provider (PSP) with respect to operational execution including alignment on production, metrics and troubleshooting. They will collaborate with an on-site matrixed team of experienced professionals to assist in maintaining quality and consistency of service by documenting and identifying trends, working directly with the PSP to implement corrective action and establish appropriate improvement plans.
The Operations Manager also assists in strategic planning such as the development of forecasts, financial planning and remaining activation aspects of the MRO&U.
Oversight of Depot maintenance execution associated with the MRO&U of F135 engines & modules at the Australia Depot
Training and support of the PSP in all aspects of MRO&U operations until Initial Depot Capability is achieved
Accountable for on-time delivery (OTD) and turnaround time (TAT) of modules overhauled at the Depot
Provide daily priorities to all P&W personnel on site and key PSP management personnel
Proactively identify process improvement opportunities utilizing the ACE tools and principals to enhance quality, improve turnaround times and reduce risks
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business or a technical field
5+ years of Operations experience in MRO&U Depot or back shop maintenance
2+ years of experience in a leadership role to include leading employees in a matrix organization
US Citizen due to government contracts
Must be able to obtain all required work permits and other access requirements and maintain.
Familiarity with military engine MRO Depot level maintenance
Ability to effectively lead and collaborate with multiple functional groups to reach a common objective
Demonstrated experience in understanding and exceeding customer expectations in an MRO operations or production environment
Excellent communication skills; candidate must be comfortable providing briefings at all levels of management
Ability to influence decisions downstream and upstream
Must be willing to flex schedule to support business demands while on assignment to include working weekends and holiday.
Ability to work in a self-directed manner
